Lucas Debargue, Piano

Hailed as a “transcendently accomplished pianist” by the New York Classical Review, the French-born pianist Lucas Debargue returns to Carnegie Hall with a solo program that juxtaposes much-loved works by Bach, Beethoven and Chopin with Sonata No. 1 by Nikolai Medtner.

Debargue is a versatile performer, with a constantly evolving vast repertoire and equally impressive in a solo program and in orchestral appearances. In addition to his irreproachable technique, Lucas Debargue is renowned for his highly interpretive approach, with critics lauding his “sense of dramatic timing and flow” in performance of Baroque and contemporary works alike.
